In Sindh province, Pakistan, there were multiple instances of violence targeting Hindu and Christian communities over blasphemy allegations, leading to the displacement of hundreds of Christian families. In October 2019, clashes between Afghan and Pakistani forces near the border had the potential to cause further displacement on the Pakistani side, which was already happening on the Afghan side. Additionally, the rise of Hindu nationalism and Islamophobia, exacerbated by India's Citizenship Amendment Act passed in December, could potentially escalate conflicts along the India-Pakistan border in 2020, leading to displacements on both sides.
