Sindh province in Pakistan was hit hard by the devastating floods in 2022, causing extensive harm to homes, transportation, agriculture, irrigation, and communication systems. The damage left millions of people in dire need of assistance. According to a Post-Disaster Needs Assessment, the total requirement for recovery and reconstruction in Sindh is a staggering USD 7.9 billion, the highest among all the provinces. The Sindh Flood Emergency Rehabilitation Project has been initiated with the goal of repairing the flood-damaged infrastructure and offering short-term employment opportunities to those affected. Additionally, the project aims to enhance Sindh's ability to handle the challenges posed by climate change and natural disasters in the long term.
