Islamic Relief conducted research on climate-induced migration in Balochistan, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), revealing that most climate migrants within these areas move within the same province. Specifically, in Sindh, increased flooding and cyclones are pushing coastal communities to temporarily relocate to cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, and Thatta. Fatima, one of the flood victims in Sindh, shared her story. Her village, home to approximately 950 people and 115 homes, endured a week of relentless rain, causing havoc. Homes and livestock were lost, leading half of the village's residents to seek safety elsewhere while the other half remained. Islamic Relief is actively implementing initiatives across Pakistan to mitigate disaster damage and empower communities. These efforts include enhancing community resilience in KP and mobilizing emergency response teams to provide aid, including cash grants, to vulnerable families affected by flooding in Sindh.
